Yellow House EAT is situated on a small farm on the outskirts of Prince Albert, offering magnificent views of the mountains and respite from the Karoo heat under the pepper tree, next to the huge leidam (reservoir). In winter a friendly fire is crackling in the indoor fireplace.

The menu changes every second month and is designed to use as much produce from the farm as possible, as well as local and indigenous products. The emphasis is on hearty, well-prepared food, as fresh as possible. Plates leaving the open-plan kitchen are always garnished with abandon with Karoo herbs or edible plants from the garden.

The restaurant is small and intimate, with tables set in the different rooms of the original farmhouse (built in 1885), decorated with various artworks and quirky touches. In summer, al fresco dining is a treat.

At this stage, EAT is mainly a dinner destination, but in Summer we serve lunchtime pizzas.
